Often, a President is seen as a unifying leader that can inspire people to follow their vision and work together towards a common goal. They must have strong leadership and decision-making skills as well as excellent communication skills. They must also be skilled in diplomacy and international relations. A President should be able to represent their country well and build relationships with other countries around the world.
A President should be knowledgeable about all aspects of the government and be able to provide solutions for the problems facing our nation. They must be able to articulate their vision for the nation in a way that can inspire people from all backgrounds and walks of life. In addition, they must be a unifying leader that can bring people together from across the political spectrum to make decisions that are in the best interests of all Americans.
As the head of executive branch, a President is responsible for overseeing the execution and enforcement of laws that are for the benefit of everyone in our country and its territories. The President has a wide variety of responsibilities that include negotiating treaties with foreign governments, signing into law or vetoing legislation passed by Congress, appointing senior department officers, and serving as commander in chief of the armed forces.
Montclair State’s President must understand the history, culture and spirit of our distinctive University and be able to enthusiastically convey this to internal and external stakeholders. In addition, the President must have a talent and an enthusiasm for fundraising, as well as the relationship skills and “street smarts” necessary to position Montclair State positively with philanthropic leaders.
